David Cosby Chartered Surveyors are honoured to have been instructed to undertake land surveying works at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the renowned Chelsea Pensioners. This commission represents a special opportunity to support one of the United Kingdom’s most historic and respected institutions.
We have been appointed by Northamptonshire-based Sabre Contractors, and we are pleased to contribute to the careful maintenance of this important estate.
A Place of National Importance
Founded in 1682 by King Charles II, the Royal Hospital Chelsea has long served as a home for retired soldiers. Today, it continues to provide a supportive community for those who have served the nation with distinction.
The Chelsea Pensioners remain at the heart of the site. Their presence offers a living connection to the nation’s military history and ensures the Royal Hospital remains both a significant architectural landmark and a place of service and respect.
Our Role at the Royal Hospital Chelsea
Our instruction involves undertaking detailed topographical and utilities surveys across the estate. These surveys will help inform the ongoing care, maintenance and improvement of the grounds and infrastructure.
Accurate survey data plays an important role in supporting sensitive estate management. It ensures essential works can proceed with an understanding of both current conditions and the historic significance of the site.
Supporting a Historic Legacy
It is a privilege to support the future of such an important institution. We are proud to play even a small part in assisting the custodians of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, and the remarkable individuals who call it home.
