Thinking of moving to Culworth?
The ancient village of Culworth occupies an elevation position atop a hill in south west Northamptonshire and is surrounded by stunning countryside. This thriving village has an active community and benefits from a local primary school, a restored Georgian inn – The Red Lion, a family run butchers, and an independent coffee shop.
Culworth is mainly a linear village with a single main street which passes by a delightful village green. Adjacent to the village green is a medieval market base which would have once formed a plinth for the local auctioneer on cattle market days. This plinth now provides the base of an impressive war memorial consisting of a tapering limestone pillar and topped with a cross and featuring carved figures set within niches below.
St Mary’s church in Culworth is over 600 years old and whilst it was much restored in 1841 it has retained its fantastic carved pew ends and an impressive Jacobean pulpit.
The history of Culworth does have some sinister characters which include members of the notorious ‘Culworth Gang’. These villains terrorised the surrounding villages by holding up stage coaches and plundering some of the wealthier residential homes. The nearby Parish Clerk of Sulgrave was also known to partake in these criminal activities and even carried pistols on his person when attending Sulgrave church (where most of the booty was hidden!) Fortunately, this marauding gang were tried and found guilty at Towcester Assizes in 1787 and Culworth has since remained, on the whole, a peaceful and friendly village.

Culworth village has easy access to the arterial roads of the A43, M1 and M40. Milton Keynes and Northampton are approximately 30 minutes’ drive from where train journeys can be made to London Euston in 1 hour making it a great choice for commuters.
For a small village, Culworth really does provide an ideal location for families seeking the benefit of good amenities with countryside living. For a wider range of facilities, the market towns of Brackley and Towcester are also just a short drive away.

How do we value your home? The Comparable Method Explained
What Is the Comparable Method of Valuation?
The comparable method of valuation relies on the principle of substitution: buyers typically will not pay more for a property than they would for a similar one in the same market. We analyse data from recent sales of comparable properties to determine a realistic market value for your home.
This method works particularly well for residential properties, where we can access a wealth of data on similar homes in your area.
