Helping to bring a Northampton landmark back to life

We are pleased to have played a small part in the redevelopment of the former Pearce Leatherworks on Wellingborough Road, Northampton.

Built in 1939 for W. Pearce & Co, the Grade II listed Art Deco building once formed part of a major leatherworks producing luxury embossed leather for brands including Mulberry and Dunhill. While the original factory buildings were later demolished, the distinctive frontage and former headquarters have remained a familiar local landmark.

After more than two decades of vacancy and deterioration, Clayson Country Homes, supported by CC Town Planning, has secured consent to restore and convert the building into 32 high-quality apartments.

Our involvement included tracing and recording the route of an existing high-voltage cable and incorporating the findings into the project survey information.

It is encouraging to see this important part of Northampton’s industrial heritage being brought back into use.

Commissioning a survey

If you are planning design work, dealing with a complex site, or simply need measurements you can rely on, commissioning the right land survey at the outset is a sensible investment. Clear, accurate survey data reduces uncertainty, avoids abortive work, and gives designers, engineers, and solicitors a solid foundation to work from.
