This time, we are pleased to introduce Andrew Spooner, our Party Wall Expert.
Andrew Spooner FRICS | Chartered Building Surveyor
Andrew is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and brings more than five decades of professional experience to the practice. Over the course of his career, he has worked across residential, commercial and ecclesiastical property, developing a broad and well-rounded understanding of buildings, their construction, and the issues that can affect them over time.
Andrew supports our team with Party Wall matters and defect diagnosis work. He has particular strengths in building pathology, the assessment of defects, and advising upon sensible, proportionate remedial options. His measured and experienced approach is especially valuable where clients require clear, practical guidance on building problems that may otherwise feel complex or uncertain.
He also has a thorough understanding of the statutory framework surrounding Party Wall procedures and regularly advises both Building Owners and Adjoining Owners. Whether acting in relation to proposed works, notices, awards or neighbourly disputes, Andrew provides calm, knowledgeable support grounded in many years of professional practice.
Clients benefit from Andrew’s depth of experience, careful judgement and straightforward manner. His involvement helps ensure that advice is not only technically sound, but also practical and tailored to the circumstances of the property and the parties involved.
Outside work, Andrew is a keen dog walker and a regular patron of his local pub, The Kings Arms, Farthingstone.
