At David Cosby Chartered Surveyors, we recently had the privilege of contributing to the refurbishment project at Bramley House Apartments, London. Commissioned by the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, our team was tasked with creating detailed CGI images to visualise the planned renovations, providing clear preview of the proposed improvements.
Project Background
Bramley House is a established residential building, and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea is keen on modernising key areas of the property. This includes upgrading the external walkways, communal stair core, and transforming the basement area into a functional space with new finishes and furnishings.
Our Scope of Work
Leveraging our expertise in architectural visualisation, we delivered three high-resolution CGI images, each showcasing different aspects of the planned refurbishments:
- External Walkway View: Our CGI captures the proposed updates to the walkways, including new coatings, safer balustrades, window units, and enhanced finishes. This helps the residents visualise how these improvements will enhance the building’s façade.
- Communal Stair Core: The stairwell, often a neglected area, was reimagined with fresh paint and modern finishes. Our imagery provides a realistic preview of how these changes will create a more inviting and aesthetically pleasing space.
- Basement Area: One of the key transformations is the basement. The CGI image illustrates a layout featuring a kitchenette and modern furniture, turning the basement into a vibrant, functional area for residents.
Utilising Advanced Techniques
To achieve accurate and visually appealing results, we utilised our existing 3D Revit model of Bramley House (please see link below). This model was enhanced with specific changes and finishes as per the client’s guidance, ensuring that the CGI images reflected the intended design with precision.
Outcome and Client Satisfaction
Effective communication and collaboration with the client were crucial throughout the project. We provided preliminary renders for review and incorporated feedback to produce the final high-resolution images.
The resulting CGI images have been instrumental in the residents’ association’s planning and presentation process. By visualising the proposed refurbishments in such detail, the stakeholders could make informed decisions and gain consensus more effectively.
